What types of interactive dashboards are available, and what specific information do they provide?
There are two interactive dashboards provided below.
– First dashboard provides information based on specific types of crimes and weapons you’re interested in.
– Second dashboard provides information based on specific types of crimes, weapons, and the victim’s sex you’re interested in.
How can you explore the data?
- Use the arrow to select specific types of crime, weapons, and victim’s sex.
- Interactive dashboard generates a stacked bar chart showing the number of crimes by month.
- The stacked bar chart displays the number of crime incidents occurring from January to December, with each month represented numerically (1 for January, 2 for February, and so forth).
- The chart features overall counts of crimes for each month (January to December) in 2022.

Some Findings
Based on the charts from the ‘When and Where Do Crimes Occurs the Most?’ section, I selected property crimes.
- Property crimes were most commonly committed with weapons not listed.
- The second most frequently used weapon category was ‘other weapons or weapons not stated,’ which accounted for 262 crimes in March.
- In 2022, bomb threats and narcotics were not utilized as weapons in property crimes that occurred in Los Angeles.

Some Findings
Based on the charts from the ‘Who Experiences Crimes in LA?’ section, I selected females with sex crimes and males with crimes involving weapons.
- Among females, sex crimes were most frequent with personal weapons. The lowest number of crimes occurred in December (182 crimes), while the highest occurred in May (239 crimes).
- For males, crimes involving weapons, particularly personal ones, were most common. The highest number of crimes was recorded in May (281 crimes), while the lowest was in January and November, with 222 crimes occurring in each month.
